Pinnacle Events Works to Rebuild Louisiana’s Wetlands

Pinnacle Events of New Orleans has added another option for meeting planners looking to infuse their event with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). For a group of executives meeting recently in New Orleans, Pinnacle Events arranged with the able assistance of Bayou Rebirth, a local non-profit organization, a half day program of planting a variety of wetland grasses to contribute to the restoration of Louisiana’s marshes and wetlands.

“Louisiana’s wetlands today represent about 40% of the wetlands of the continental US, but about 80% of the losses. It is important to restore our wetlands as they provide flood control, water purification, storm buffers, wildlife habitat, nursery grounds for aquatic life, and recreational areas” said Beth Mabey, a principal with Pinnacle Events. This half day program comes complete with camaraderie, laughs, all tools and equipment, phenomenal bird watching, and even sightings of alligator tracks. And, of course, there is the self satisfaction of giving back to the community.
